Non � che Dell ha molta furia di vendere i suoi Pc e portatili con Linux preinstallato:

The company said Tuesday that the note was just about certifying the hardware for being ready to work with Novell SUSE Linux, not an announcement that the computers would be loaded and sold with the operating system in the near future.

In un primo passo cetificano solo l’hardware per compatibilit� con Novell Suse, quindi niente urli di gioia. Se poi invece pagare il supporto tecnico a Microsoft lopaghi alla Novell cambia poco, come diceva bene Mark Shuttleworth.

Sono entrato nel mondo Linux grazie alla Suse di Novell, ma questo pesce puzza da un po’, e le ultime due versioni giravano anche peggio della Kubuntu.

Il menu del tasto destro “azioni” di Konqueror si può arricchire, per esempio salvando questo file di testo come aprikate.desktop in /home/nome/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus (o con sudo in /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/ per attivarlo per tutti gli utenti) si possono aprire tutti i file in Kate.

Sono KDE-ista praticante e credente, si sa. Uno delle mille cose che si possono configurare in Konqueror (il cuore di KDE) sono naturalmente le associazione dei file, cio� cosa si apre quando si clicca un file e cosa offre il menu del tasto destro apri con. Basta navigare in Configura Konqueror > Associazione file e cercare le estensioni che interessano. Per esempio *.css, *.php farli aprire in Kate con un click, e per chi non ama la lentezza di Gwenview pu� impostare display (bisogna che sia installato ImageMagick), salvare (editarlo, cambiando “comando” in “display %u” se non funziona subito) o solo cambiare le impostazioni nella scheda “Integrazione” spuntando “visualizzatore integrato” e spostare in alto la voce “khtmlimage”.

E per essere pronto ho anche installato dolpin, che sar� il file manager di default in KDE 4. Molto semplice, molto in inglese ancora a mancano gli “azioni” e molto altro. Penso che user� tutt’e due, secondo cosa si vuole fare.

Ecco una piccola guida per usare vim per editare file di configurazione tipo xorg.conf dalla konsole.

Conviene sempre un backup prima:

#sudo cp nomefile nomefile.backup

cd ~/bin
vim l
a
#!/bin/sh
enter
ls -la –color -h $1
esc
:wq
chmod a+x l
l

[il tutto per elencare il contenuto della cartella attuale per esteso premendo "l" (come lista)]

PS: Naturalmente si pu� anche creare un file di testo:

#!/bin/sh
ls -la –color -h $1

con Kate o un altro editor, salvandolo come “l” nella cartella ~/bin, marcarlo, tasto destro, propriet�, spuntare la casella “eseguibile”.
